Having horses, you know their primary interest is food. For good pics I watch their ears, and I try to get them erect, those always seem to look the best. I'm new at horse photography, but timing, like I seem to be gifted with such as shown in the 'Dance_Dance_Dance_1' shot, helps a lot. And, I'm sure you realize YOU never see the bad shots (grin). Digital cameras allow you to shoot a lot and keep a few. The one where all three of the ones on our farm all erect and standing so proud, that was an event where they were fresh to the farm and an event occurred which had all their undivided attention - strange horses were right outside the paddock. I just lucked into the pose. But I knew to shoot with all their ears up, I think that gives them that attentive, intelligent air, and I think that is what most owners want to see in a pic of their horses. Good luck, and I hope this helps! If there is anything else I can tell you I'd be glad to, but I don't rightly know what it might be!

It were DEFINITELY a windy day. I rode up there on my motor scooter (250cc), and it was blowing me around pretty bad, but I got so many pics that day. Coomer's Cottonwood Series, this Grazer series, Mt. Scott and many more of other places up in the Wichitas. It was just a very good day all the way around. Thanks for the comment!
